Yes, your voucher will be issued contingent on the completion of a background check. The Housing Authority may do investigations in order to verify the income claimed is accurate in addition to criminal and credit checks. The Housing Authority has policies in place regarding issues that may be found during these checks and you may be deemed ineligible due to criminal or credit history. Private landlords also may conduct their own background checks if they require them for potential tenants.
